my name is dolo lucia. i was named after my maternal grandmother, dolores. my middle name is after fourteenth-century saint lucia.

the name dolores stems from the latin word ‘dolor’, which means pain or sorrow. lucia, from luz, means light.

and this, pain to light, is the essence of my alchemical path and artistic offering. pretty sure my parents were not conscious of the poetry they were bestowing upon me, but here i am.

meeting pain with the light of Love. loving our twisted, shifty, fragmented, bleeding, parts back into wholeness. bringing forth the hidden passions, desires, pleasures, and powers we lost connection with in the name of smallness and safety.

so we may land into deep flow in the dance of duality, and meet ourselves between the shadow and the light.
